Arraignment postponed for man accused of killing 66-year-old

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — The formal arraignment of a man charged with murder and other crimes in the death of a 66-year-old man was postponed one week to give the Public Defender’s Office time to check for conflicts in representing the suspect.

Tyrell Cooper, who appeared in court Tuesday afternoon, will return March 13 for arraignment on charges of first-degree murder, burglary, assault with a deadly weapon other than a gun, making threats, injuring an elder or dependent adult and dissuading a witness by threats or force.

The 42-year-old Cooper is being held without bail.

He’s accused of killing Harry Eugene Clark, who was found dead Sunday morning inside a home on Clyde Street, north of East Brundage Lane and east of South King Street. Cooper was arrested the same day.
