The man accused of causing the crash that killed the father of New England Patriots running back James White was jailed Thursday, charged with vehicular homicide, reckless driving and speeding.
Daniel Tucker Chamblin, 32, of Hollywood, surrendered Thursday and is expected to make his first court appearance Friday morning. He was at the main jail in downtown Fort Lauderdale on Thursday afternoon.
Traffic homicide detectives accuse Chamblin of driving at over 95 mph at the intersection of Griffin Road and Southwest 118th Avenue in Cooper City when he collided with a car driven by Lisa White, the football player’s mother.
She was seriously injured but is recovering at home, the Broward Sheriff’s Office said. Her husband, Miami-Dade Police Capt. Tyrone White, was killed in the crash.
