RAHWAY – A 31-year-old city man has been arrested and charged in the fatal shooting of a Roselle man here on Saturday.

Brandan Melford was charged with murder, unlawful possession of a weapon and possession of a weapon for unlawful purpose in the death of 44-year-old Jack Harris, the Union County Prosecutor’s Office announced.

Rahway police responded about 12:39 p.m. Saturday to the 1400 block of Witherspoon Street on a report of gunshots, according to Union County Assistant Prosecutor Christopher Desimone, who is prosecuting the case.
