Two new arrests have been made in Gulfport mass shooting on New Year’s Eve. What to know

Gulfport police announced another arrest relating to the New Year’s Eve mass shooting that left four people dead in the Gaston Point neighborhood.

Police arrested 23-year-old Breanna Necole Riley and charged her with one count of hindering the prosecution or apprehension of another for conduct constituting a felony, according to the press release sent Wednesday morning.

Riley was transported to the Harrison County jail on a $50,000 bond.

Riley’s arrest is the fourth by the Gulfport Police Department relating to the shooting. Also in custody in Harrison County are:

  • Mario Clark, 23, arrested on one count of second-degree murder and two counts of shooting into a dwelling.

  • Vincent Jaquan Armstrong, 18, arrested on one count of second-degree murder and two counts of shooting into a dwelling.

  • Khalid Williams, 26, arrested on one count of second-degree murder, two counts of shooting into a dwelling, and one count of possession of a weapon by a convicted felon.

Another suspect, 23-year-old Isavian Preston, is in custody in Madisonville, Kentucky, where he was arrested and charged with identity theft on Jan. 4. When extradited to Mississippi, he will face charges of first-and second-degree murder, the Sun Herald previously reported.

A sixth suspect, Latavion Devon Bland, 20, is in custody in Texas on charges of second-degree murder and two counts of shooting into a dwelling in the killing of Nathaniel Harris, Harrison County prosecuting attorney Herman Cox told the Sun Herald.

The victims of the shooting have been identified as Corey Dubose, 23; Aubrey Lewis, 22; Sedrick McCord, 28; and Nathaniel Harris, 52.

At a hearing last week, Gulfport Det. Joe Klein testified that the police investigation so far has determined the shooting began with Dubose and Lewis firing shots at each other. No one will be charged in their deaths.

At the hearing, attorneys for Armstrong and Williams pointed out that there is no physical evidence connecting their clients to the killing of Harris. Klein testified that the charges were based on witness interviews; he said detectives have spoken with 20 to 25 witnesses.
