BOYNTON BEACH —The Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office has made an arrest in what it called a "rolling gun battle" in December that killed a man in his home.

A teen who turned 18 last month was arrested Jan. 31 and booked into the Juvenile Assessment Center

The sheriff's office said if the 18-year-old is adjudicated as an adult, that person will be charged with second-degree murder, discharging a firearm from a vehicle and delinquent possession of a firearm. Police did not identify the teen by gender.

The shooting between two cars happened before 6 p.m. Dec. 29 in the 1200 block of Mentone Road near Boynton Beach in the San Castle neighborhood.

A stray bullet struck a bystander in his home. The man, who was not identified because his family invoked the Marsy's Law exemption that allows crime victims and their families to withhold their names from public information, died at the scene.
