Arrest warrant issued for driver in 2023 fatal crash in Pine Lawn

ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. – An arrest warrant has been issued for a man accused of causing a person’s death by driving drunk.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol’s probable cause statement, the crash happened around 3:20 a.m. on Aug. 5, 2023, at the intersection of Kienlen and Natural Bridge avenues in Pine Lawn.

The highway patrol claims Prinze McIntosh was traveling northbound on Kienlen in a 2017 Chevrolet Camaro SS and racing another vehicle, a 2015 Ford Fusion. Jaytaonna Brown was riding in the passenger seat of McIntosh’s vehicle.

McIntosh was traveling at speeds of up to 118 miles per hour. The posted speed limit on Kienlen was 35 miles per hour.

At some point, McIntosh lost control of the Camaro and left the roadway. The vehicle struck the curb and a yield sign, crossed Natural Bridge, then flipped several times and hit a commercial signpost. The Camaro landed in the parking lot of a seafood restaurant at the corner.

McIntosh and Brown were ejected from the Camaro. Brown’s right arm was severed at the elbow. Brown was pronounced dead at the scene. She was 24.

Neither McIntosh nor Brown were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash, the state highway patrol said.

A tire came off the Camaro when it flipped and hit the windshield of the Ford Fusion. The driver of the Fusion suffered moderate injuries. He was wearing his seat belt at the time of the crash.

A state trooper at the scene met with McIntosh and suspected he was intoxicated. At least one alcoholic container was found in his vehicle. The highway patrol claims McIntosh performed poorly on a field sobriety test and a breath test, in which he allegedly recorded a .110 BAC.

McIntosh was held for 24 hours but ultimately released while authorities were waiting for toxicology results. A blood sample confirmed McIntosh was well over the legal limit.

McIntosh currently has pending cases for driving with a revoked license and for speeding.

The St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office charged McIntosh (age not provided) with one count of DWI – death of another. A judge set a $250,000 cash-only bond for McIntosh once he’s in custody.
