Authorities on Friday discovered processed marijuana, infused edibles, cash and other items during the shuttering of an illegal dispensary in Apple Valley.

Two men from the Los Angeles area were arrested as authorities shuttered an illegal marijuana dispensary in Apple Valley.

The Apple Valley Sheriff’s Station reported that at 11:31 a.m. Friday, deputies served a search warrant at a commercial building in the 17000 block of Highway 18.

The building location is near the corner of Navajo Road and Hwy. 18, area maps show.

The warrant was also served by Town of Apple Valley Code Enforcement personnel and the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Marijuana Enforcement Team, sheriff’s officials said.

The search warrant was authored by Deputy Conley after receiving information from code enforcement officers about a suspected illegal marijuana dispensary.

During the service of the warrant, deputies detained Manuel Jimenez-Ibarra, 24, of Los Angeles, and Wade Kibby, a 55-year-old resident of Long Beach, the sheriff’s report said.

During that time, authorities said they recovered 10 pounds of processed marijuana, THC cartridges, marijuana edibles, $1,200 in cash, two 9 mm magazines, and a ghost gun.

Kibby and Jimenez-Ibarra were arrested and issued citations on suspicion of possessing marijuana for sale. The case will be forwarded to the San Bernardino County District Attorney for review and filing of charges, sheriff's officials said.

The Town of Apple Valley’s ordinance prohibits all commercial cannabis activity, according to a staff report.

In 2016, the Town Council reviewed and introduced an ordinance that amended its development code to prohibit marijuana dispensaries, cannabis manufacturers, and the cultivation and delivery of cannabis.

Anyone with information about the ongoing investigation is asked by the sheriff's department to contact Deputy Conley or Deputy Alfredo Esparza at the Apple Sheriff’s Station at 760-240-7400 or Sheriff’s Dispatch at 760- 956-5001.
