Arrow star Stephen Amell's wrestling show Heels axed after two seasons
Arrow star Stephen Amell's wrestling series Heels has been cancelled after two seasons.
The Starz series debuted back in 2021, and follows the story of two brothers who try to live up to their late father's pro-wrestling promotion.
However, fresh off the conclusion of its second season, it has now been confirmed (via Variety) that the show has been axed alongside fellow Starz shows Run the World, Blindspotting and The Venery of Samantha Bird – the latter of which has been axed before even being broadcast.

As well as Amell and Vikings' Alexander Ludwig, the series starred Alison Luff, Kelli Berglund, Allen Moldonado, Mary McCormack, Roxton Garcia, James Harrison, Chris Baure, Trey Tucker and Robby Ramos. The show also saw appearances from wrestling legends AJ Lee and CM Punk.
The second season of the show faced delays ahead of its premiere back in July, with Amell explaining earlier this year that it stemmed from Starz's split from Lionsgate.
"They are now in the process of, as best I understand it, 'untangling’ that partnership,'" Amell said at the time. "As they are untangling everything, they are figuring out which assets belong to whom."

The actor also expressed hope at seeing more episodes in the future, saying: "I would be worried if I didn’t think the season was spectacular, and I think the season is spectacular.
"It’s way better. More story, more scope…. And it also felt more like a cohesive season because we actually shot it in order and were subject to COVID ‘hiccups’ but not COVID catastrophes.
"I’m still very, very confident that there’s going to be more [Heels] to film."
Heels aired on Starz in the US and StarzPlay in the UK.
