Arrow's Stephen Amell pitched show's finale back in season 1
Arrow star Stephen Amell has teased the ending for his character in the upcoming final season, and it's something he's known since season 1.
The star revealed that he pitched his character's fate years ago and is happy with the outcome at the end of season 8.
"It's what I want," he told TV Guide. "I pitched it for a very long time. It's what I want, but concurrently that doesn't mean that there aren't surprises along the way."
He added of the 'Crisis on Infinite Earths' crossover: "I was floored when I got the pitch for the crossover. I don't see it coming, nobody sees it coming. It's gonna be so rad."
Amell actually spoke about his original ending pitch back in 2017, telling Entertainment Weekly at the time: "I've always had a very specific idea for how the series would end.
"It came to me at some point during season 1, and whether it's through a flash-forward or whatever, I just hope that we end up getting to do that."
