Art at 43023 hosts June reception for local artists
The June reception at Art at 43023 will be held Saturday June 4, from 6-8 p.m. There will be live music by Bill Page and refreshments. This event is open to the public.
In June the gallery will continue to exhibit works by the Collage of Women Artists. This group originated in central Ohio in 1992. The purpose of the group remains unchanged: to help each member grow in their artistic endeavors and to create and show together. Currently the group has approximately 30 members. About 18 of those members have contributed to the show at Art at 43023: Ann Cole, Judy Hazen, Annette Simon, Rebecca Taft, Shelia Riat, Sharon Parr, Diane Ruck, Dawn Petrill, Bev Goldie, Gaynelle Sloman, Christiane Curry, Jane Flewellen, Jean Langkamp, Donna Noice, Vivian Ripley and Debra Dawson.
Granville resident Carl Porter of Woodcutter's Glen creates wood and metal art as well as functional household items. Carl, also the lead blacksmith at Roscoe Village, makes each piece individually by hand. Nearly all of the wood used in WG products is white or green ash, recovered from the owner’s property. Woodcutter's Glen exists to create exclusive hand-made items of functional art to be proudly displayed or utilized in any home, yard or office.
Additionally the gallery holds the artistic works of 18 different artists. Many of these artists live in Granville. Mediums include jewelry, kiln fired, blown and stained glass, pottery, sculpture, photography, wood working, painting and more. Art at 43023 has plenty of options for fathers day, graduation and wedding gifts. The wide price range will fit every budget.
