All About Art: Emily Wilson brings bold approach to painting
Emily Wilson is a graduate of Converse College. Her degree is in Interior design and her home and studio space reflect that emphasis.
She moved to Greenville in 2003 and works as a hairstylist at WOW Salon on Pendleton Street in Greenville, but about five years ago she realized painting gave her peace, even more so in the turbulent times of the Covid pandemic.
While most of her work is focused on people and cultural icons, she brings photographic images to life through color and texture. She recently started a livestock series. “My latest obsession has been horses,” she says. She says she has a healthy fear of large animals but has become focused on capturing and sharing their beauty and majesty.
