All About Art: Greenville painter Jessica Fields

Jessica Fields is a native of Houston, Texas, and says she has always loved art.

She  attended    the    Milwaukee    Institute   of   Art   and   Design,   where   her she says her love  of  paint,  color  and  texture  developed  --  along  with  a  distaste  for  snow.

So,  after  she  met  her  husband,  they  moved  south  to  Greenville.  She’s  continuing to grow as an artist focusing on  landscapes,  portraits,  still  life  and  figurative   work   from   notebooks   to   canvases, and everything in between.

Fields  is  a  painter  concerned  chiefly   with   color   and   texture.   She   likes  to  play  with  these  in  landscapes  and  still  life  work.

Thick,  impasto  paint  is  created  with  cold  wax  medium  and  applied  with  palette  knives,  trowels,  and  squeegees.
