The Art League of Henderson County has announced that this year’s ArtScape Banner program is back in full swing along with a new home for the Art League.

ArtScape’s colorful and artistic banners will be hung by the City of Hendersonville along Main Street and downtown avenues. A total of 30 artists will be chosen via a two-tier process, including a professional, competitive jury and a curator committee to participate in the 2022-2023 program, according to a news release. Artists must be 18 years old or older and live in Henderson County.

Members may submit two pieces for a $35 fee and $45 for non-members. The time period to apply is Nov. 1 through Nov. 30. Artists interested in participating are encouraged to learn more and apply by visiting the ArtScape website: https://artleaguehvl.org/artscape.php

Upon acceptance, the artist’s work and name, along with the name of the banner’s sponsor, will appear on both sides of a durable-vinyl banner. Businesses interested in sponsoring this year’s ArtScape program are encouraged to contact Diane Dean, ArtScape’s sponsorship chair, at Artist@DianeDean.com or 843-247-1368. This year’s fee to sponsor a banner is $200.

The Art League has also announced its new location, called Art Place Gallery and Workshops, which will serve as a space dedicated toward offering workshops and gallery space.  Art Place Gallery and Workshops is located at 2021 Asheville Highway, Hendersonville.

Judith Kolva, ArtScape’s Chair, says, “ArtScape Hendersonville is an annually changing, outdoor public-arts project that enriches the appeal of Hendersonville. I encourage artists and sponsors alike to get involved in this unique program that demonstrates Hendersonville’s commitment to art, creativity, and culture.”

ArtScape Hendersonville was founded in 2017 under the umbrella of the Art League of Henderson County.  It is supported, in part, by the Community Foundation and corporate sponsors.
