Art, music and food are ready to fill your weekend in Newport County

The good news is the historic low temperatures of last Saturday are in the past. The bad news is the balmy-like temperatures that followed on Sunday also don't appear to be returning.

With us somewhere in the middle — it is February after all — it's time to make plans to get out again and fortunately there are plenty of opportunities this weekend across Newport County to make that happen.

Whether you want to check out some high school student artwork, listen to live music or get a jump start on Valentine's Day, this is the weekend for you.

State making plans for the weekend with these events.

Get a jump on Valentine's Day

Let's face it, going out on a Tuesday night isn't easy. So head out this weekend to spend some time with the person or people you love. Make a reservation or head to the local market and pick up all the fixings for a candlelight dinner at home.

Set up a popcorn bar and get ready to binge something even if it just turns into a little Netflix and Chill.
