The world-famous Art’s Sandwich Shop in Orlando is turning 50 this year.
Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer and City Commissioner Bakari Burns were at the shop this week to help celebrate.
Both leaders were there before the lunch rush to highlight half-a-century of the restaurant’s service to the community.
Burns named Art’s Sandwich Shop as the district’s business of the month and presented the owner, Sybyal Adkins, with a proclamation.
“We appreciate all our customers and being in Orlando. It’s just been great. It really has,” Adkins said.
The entire Adkins family has contributed to the restaurant and have had celebrities like Jack Black visit regularly.
