Art submissions sought for utility box art project

Area artists of all ages and skill levels are invited to submit original artwork for consideration for a new project in the Hub City.

Three submissions will be selected to be printed on vinyl and installed on one of three electrical and traffic control boxes in Aberdeen this year. Entry deadline is Sept. 6 at 5 p.m., according to a news release from the Aberdeen Area Chamber of Commerce.

This project is a collaboration between the Aberdeen Area Arts Council, Northern State University and the Aberdeen Area Chamber of Commerce’s Enhance Aberdeen Committee. The goal is to make this an annual project and sponsors will be sought for future wraps. As the art scene continues to grow in Aberdeen, all murals, window art, utility box wraps and more will be brought together in one online location where residents and visitors alike can find out more about each piece of artwork, the artists, business sponsors and more.
