Arthur Joseph

STERLING - Arthur A. Joseph, 88, passed away unexpectedly at home on Sunday, May 25, 2014. He was born in New Bedford, the son of John and Augusta (Jesus) Joseph and had lived in Stoneham and Lancaster before moving to Sterling.

He leaves his loving wife of 52 years, Ann (Westly) Joseph; a son, Andrew Joseph and his wife, Barbara of Newton.

Arthur was a Navy veteran of World War II aboard LST 263. After serving his country, he worked for over forty years as a Physical Therapist before retiring in 1995. He was a member of the College Church of the Seventh-day Adventist in South Lancaster and the Everett H. Minigan American Legion Post 96 in Lancaster. For many years Arthur volunteered with the American Red Cross and more recently he delivered Meal On Wheels in Lancaster.

A private committal service will be held at the Massachusetts Veterans' Memorial Cemetery in Winchendon. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one's choice. Arrangements are under the care of Miles-Sterling Funeral and Tribute Center, 100 Worcester Road, Sterling.
