Sinead Hartnett

British singer Sinead Harnett has seen her star rise thanks to high-profile collaborations with Disclosure and Rudimental. She's now readying her debut solo EP and recently released the lead track, "No Other Way."

Sinead Harnett was born in North London and grew up listening to Whitney Houston, Tina Turner, ‘90s R&B and UK garage. In 2012 she began working with house duo Disclosure and quartet Rudimental, ultimately contributing melodies and choruses to several tracks. After releasing her own house track, "Got Me," and contributing vocals to Ryan Hemsworth's "Small + Lost" off his debut LP, she is now readying the release of her debut EP, "N.O.W," set to mix modern structures with ‘90s R&B sensibilities.

Why the buzz?
"No Other Way," the lead track from the upcoming EP, is praised for Harnett's smooth R&B vocals and for the synth-heavy groove of the production by Snakehips and Utter.

Reviewing the track, Unrecorded said, "Showing a deep appreciation for UK's outstanding music history, with particular inspiration taken from the '90s genres of garage and R&B, you can definitely hear the song's ancestral roots. However, this isn't a pure throwback, as the electronics here are akin to today's contemporary styles; this means not trying too hard, and simply allowing genres like garage and R&B to flow into one another."

"Smooth, soulful, sultry, sexual. Just a big hazy cloud of sex with a little bit of Snakehips' glittery groove weaved throughout," wrote art felicis.

"The soulful production really helps show both her comfort in this new wave R&B genre and her overall ability as a solo artist," said Site of Sound.
