Artist’s tribute to health care workers offers source of unity, hope to community

Nelson Cardenas usually uses his wood burning skills to create art of famous athletes and musicians, but now, he's using them to pay tribute to local heroes. Cardenas works at a hospital in Kissimmee, Florida, where he sees how the coronavirus is affecting health care workers every day. When he was asked to create one art piece commemorating their service, he decided to go beyond, creating an entire series of portraits to display outside the hospital as a symbol of hope and unity.
