Artists Honor Chadwick Boseman in His Hometown

Chadwick Boseman has been honored in his hometown of Anderson, and elsewhere in South Carolina, following his death from cancer on Friday, August 28.

Flags atop the South Carolina State House were lowered to half-staff on Sunday, August 30, Gov Henry McMaster said. Local media reported that the flags were to be given to Boseman’s family.

Some paid tribute to the 43-year-old Black Panther star in his hometown. These videos, posted on Sunday, show artists in Anderson painting portraits of Boseman and Black Panther.

An online petition was also launched asking Anderson officials to replace a Confederate monument in the city with a statue of Boseman, reports said. Credit: @TheDaquanSmith via Storyful
