Artists, musicians, comedians and more: The 8th annual Neon Festival in Norfolk is here

A hodgepodge of Hampton Roads performance artists, musicians and comedians will converge for the Neon Festival Thursday and Friday.

Since its inception in 2015, the festival has featured more than 500 artists and performers through its art exhibitions, community programs and events.

On Thursday, the festival will be held at the Chrysler Museum of Art campus and includes performances by Twinkle Toes Dance and La Primavera Strings. James Manno, who fronts the bands James Manno & the B.O.T’s and James Manno and the Happiness Band, will perform on the museum’s Glass Studio steps.

Bhav Brigade Glow Yoga will be teaching a class around 7 p.m. on the museum’s front lawn.

On Friday, festival happenings will move to Granby Street. Pop-up galleries will be open at the d’Art Center, Commune and the Copeland Center. A mainstage will be set up at The Plot at 776 Granby St. with performers including the Virginia Opera, Synergy Dance Team and Akeylah Simone with a live band delivering a fusion of rock, R&B, soul, pop and hip-hop.
