Artists share ice sculptures at Westmoreland County festival

Over 40 ice sculptures were on display including sculptures of a complex snowflake, different animals ranging from birds to unicorns, and a large throne made of ice.

People at the event found the weather to be perfect for the event.

“It’s cold. It’s perfect. It’s overcast so, hopefully, the ice sculptures will last a little longer than normal,” said visitor Valerie Christoff.

The festival began Saturday and will continue into Sunday.

Two free concerts were available to people who visited. Big Fat Jazz performed at the Town Hall Auditorium on Saturday and Candle in the Wind will play there at 12:30 p.m. on Sunday.

Anyone who wanted a more relaxed trip around the festival was able to catch a ride on a horse-drawn carriage.

Guests who caught a chill during the festival were able to purchase warm drinks. Kettle corn was also available.
