Dancing with the Stars tour

Catch the glamour and excitement of "Dancing with the Stars Live" when the tour comes to the Akron Civic Theatre for one show at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday. Fans of the theatrical dance show will get to see their favorite pros — including Brandon Armstrong, Alan Bersten, Artem Chigvintsev, Sasha Farber, Daniella Karagach, Pasha Pashkov, Gleb Savchenko, Emma Slater, Britt Stewart and more, including special guest star/2020 Mirror Ball Champion Kaitlyn Bristowe — perform the cha cha, foxtrot, salsa and tango, among other dances.

UA Steel Drum Band

The University of Akron Steel Drum Band, founded by Larry Snider in 1980, will perform 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the Akron Civic Theatre. The band, one of the nation's oldest panorama-style steel bands, is made up of percussion majors. It's dedicated to performing the musical art form of Trinidad and educating others about the history of the pan. Cost is $12, $7 for children ages 5-12 and free for children younger than 5. 'Partying with Postcards'

The free "Third Thursday: Partying with Postcards" event will be 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Akron Art Museum, Akron-Summit County Public Library and Summit Artspace.

The drop-in program celebrating creativity in Akron will feature an exhibit of community-made postcard in the museum’s McDowell lobby plus a DJ, refreshments, postcard making and hands-on activities.

The library will host a community postcard display in the Garden Trio Corridor, a free laser-engraved trinket, postcard making and browsing the Akron Art Library artworks, which are available for checkout.

Summit Artspace will have a postcard display in the first-floor hallway, open galleries and postcard making.

Cleveland Pops 'All that Jazz'

Trumpeter and vocalist Byron Stripling will perform an evening of jazz music with the Cleveland Pops Orchestra at 8 p.m. Saturday at Severance Hall, 11001 Euclid Ave., Cleveland. Cost is $31. UA Wind Symphony

Galen Karriker and Andrew Feyes will conduct the University of Akron Wind Symphony at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at Guzzetta Recital Hall, 157 University Ave., Akron. The program will include works by Martin Ellerby, Giuseppe Verdi, Wayne Milburn, Kim Archer, Alfred Reed and Karl King, arranged by UA’s own Gene Milford.
