'The SpongeBob Musical'

Check out that pineapple under the sea and all the creatures of Bikini Bottom in the Cleveland premiere of "The SpongeBob Musical," continuing through Aug. 21 at Blank Canvas Theatre, 1305 West 78th St., Suite 211, Cleveland.

Vondracek plays Rachmaninoff

Czech pianist Lukáš Vondráček will make his Cleveland Orchestra debut performing Rachmaninoff's Piano Concerto No. 2 in C minor with the Cleveland Orchestra at 7 p.m. Saturday at the Blossom Music Festival. Giancarlo Guerrero will conduct the program that also features Adams' "Harmonielehre."

Cost is $29-$99 for pavilion seats, $25 for lawn seats. Two free under 18 tickets are available for each adult lawn ticket purchased. For tickets, see www.clevelandorchestra.com.

Akron Symphony in park

The Akron Symphony Orchestra will perform a free concert at 7:30 p.m. Sunday at Goodyear Metro Park, 2077 Newton St. , Akron. The program, conducted by Eric Benjamin, will feature works by Holst, Bartók, Brahms, Joplin and Mozart, including the latter's First Symphony that he wrote when he was 8. The orchestra also will perform two pieces written by Maestro Benjamin, including his “Soap Box Derby Rag.”

NEO Jazz Orchestra

The NEO Jazz Orchestra will entertain with its big band sounds in a free concert from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Forest Lodge, 260 Greenwood Ave., Akron. Bring a chair and a picnic. The event is part of the Akron Recreation and Parks summer concert series. See NEO Jazz Orchestra on Facebook.

Music by the Lake

Summit Metro Parks will host the Metro Parks Ensemble for the free concert Music by the Lake from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Sherman Shelter Area at Silver Creek Metro Park, 5000 Hametown Road, Norton. Music includes tunes from the Big Band era, Broadway musicals, children's films, TV themes and more. Bring chairs and blankets. The concert will be canceled if it rains.
