'Lord of the Rings' at Blossom

The Cleveland Orchestra will perform the score of "The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring in Concert" live-to-picture at 7 p.m. Friday through Sunday at the Blossom Music Festival, 1145 W. Steels Corners Road, Cuyahoga Falls. The film, featuring Howard Shore's Oscar-winning score, will be presented in high definition on large screens.

The movie nights, originally scheduled for 2020 and canceled due to the pandemic, will be conducted by Ludwig Wicki, also featuring the Blossom Festival Chorus and Cleveland Orchestra Children's Chorus.

In the first part of Peter Jackson’s fantasy adventure trilogy, based on J.R.R. Tolkien's novels, a long-lost ring has been found in the possession of hobbit Frodo Baggins. When Gandalf the grey wizard discovers it's the all-powerful One Ring, Frodo must lead an epic quest to Mount Doom to destroy it. Howard Shore’s Academy Award-winning score captures the film's sweeping emotion, thrilling vistas and grand journeys.
