Ascension Parish president appoints two to leadership roles

GONZALES, La. (BRPROUD) — The Ascension Parish government announced two promotions on Wednesday, Feb. 14.

Pamela Matassa will be promoted to Deputy Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) and James LeBlanc will be promoted to Governmental Affairs Director.

Matassa served as the Director of Communications and will be moving into her new role immediately. Matassa will also have responsibilities as the Public Information Officer to connect the government with the community, according to a release.

Ascension Parish President Clint Cointment released the following statement on Matassa earning the promotion.

“I am privileged to appoint Pamela Matassa to this pivotal position,” said Cointment. “Her wealth of experience and demonstrated proficiency make her an outstanding fit for the Deputy CAO role. I have every confidence in her ability to excel in this capacity.”

LeBlanc previously served as Safety Director with 30 years of experience at the Honeywell Chemical Plant in Geismar. He is also a Volunteer Fire Chief for St. Amant and Darrow, according to a release.

Cointment also shared his thoughts on Leblanc stepping into a new position within the Ascension Parish government.
