Ashburn woman arrested for stealing packages from porches

LOUDOUN COUNTY, Va. (DC News Now) — A woman was arrested after police say she stole packages from people’s porches last year.

On the morning of Nov. 17, 2023, the Leesburg Police Department (LPD) received reports that a woman had stolen packages that had just been delivered from someone’s porch in the 500 block of Nivens Ct. SW. It appeared that she had been following a package delivery truck in a white colored sedan.

While officers were looking around for her in the area, more callers started reporting similar activity happening to them in the surrounding area.

Then, an LPD officer found 44-year-old Brandi Lowry’s car in the 1100 block of Coubertin Drive SE and performed a traffic stop on her. The officer found multiple stolen packages and clothing items in her car. Police said that she stole packages from at least two people’s porches.

After investigating further, it was revealed that Lowry, of Ashburn, had also stolen packages from three other people’s porches. Police obtained three additional warrants against her on Nov. 19, 2023, but she was nowhere to be found.
