Ashland County Spelling Bee is Tuesday at Career Center
Area sixth, seventh and eighth graders will compete at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday in the annual Ashland County Spelling Bee, which will be held at the Ashland County-West Holmes Career Center.
In case of inclement weather, the Bee will be Thursday.
Student participants are:
Ashland Middle School - Raylon Cooper, Reagan Dove, Lacey Gable, Olive Knowlton, Denver Kruty, Jonah Wilson, Evan Young.
Ashland Christian School - Dylan Deer, Michael Bell.
Hillsdale District – Cooper Baker, Gage Barcus, Talley Neff, Nick Wiltrout.
Loudonville District - Alexis Oswald, Mackenna Whipple, Owen Baker, Daniel Caruthers, Amelia Ashley.
Mapleton District - Emelie Ferrari, Jack Gove.
St. Edwards School - Solomon Prigozen, Mary Hamilton.
The pronouncer is Victoria Birk, International Baccalaureate program coordinator, with the Tri-County ESC.
The judges are Andrew Johnson, Gifted and Talented consultant, Tri-County ESC; Kris Pipes-Perone, director of Curriculum & Instruction/Special Education, Tri-County ESC; and Doug Marrah, executive director, Tri-County Computer Services.
The 2024 SNSB Region 2 Bee participants are selected by the Scripps National Spelling Bee via results of an online administered spelling/vocabulary test to building champions, organized by the Scripps National Spelling.
The Ashland Times Gazette will provide trophies to the champion and runner-up for the Ashland County Spelling Bee.
The Bee is coordinated by Jennifer Marrah, consultant, and Debbie Stoler, administrative assistant, of the Tri-County Educational Service Center.
