Ashland pedestrian struck early Tuesday by Mansfield driver, pedestrian receiving care

ASHLAND – A Mansfield man driving a silver Ford Focus struck an Ashland pedestrian Tuesday morning near U.S. Route 250 and Sugarbush Drive, according to the Ashland Police Division.

The pedestrian, 34, was transported to OhioHealth Ashland Health Center by Ashland EMS with serious injuries, Ashland Police Division reported.

As of Tuesday afternoon, the pedestrian was receiving care, Capt. Craig Kiley said.

The Mansfield man, 60, was driving westbound on Route 250 when the vehicle struck the pedestrian around 7:07 a.m., Kiley said.

"We're still trying to determine how the woman was struck," Kiley said. "This is under investigation as an accident."

Ashland Police Division asking for any witnesses of the accident to provide help

The Ashland Police Division is trying to obtain video surveillance from the Ohio Department of Transportation and is asking for assistance from the public who were at the accident or have video evidence, Kiley said.

Ashland County Sheriff's Office, Ohio State Highway Patrol and Ashland Fire Department assisted with the crash.
