It's a family affair at Huey's Restaurants, so it's no surprise that a member of the Boggs family is stepping into the role of president of the restaurant group.

Ashley Boggs Robilio took over the role of president of Huey's Restaurants, previously held by her sister Lauren McHugh Robinson, in April.

After working in nearly every position in her family's award-winning, local restaurant chain — and being trained by none other than her father, the late Thomas Boggs, who bought into Huey's over 50 years ago — Robilio said she is excited to move into this pivotal role in the company.

"I'm so grateful and excited to help lead our team in my new role," she said. "I’m proud to be part of the Huey’s family every single day, and I’m humbled to be able to do so in this capacity."

Robinson, who succeeded her father as president in 2007, remains part of the Huey's team as the CEO. She became CEO in 2008, the same year her father died.

Robinson said the position couldn't be in better hands — and for good reason. Robilio began working at Huey's at a young age, learning to cook, run food, serve and everything in between. She left Memphis to attend the University of Alabama and returned in 1990 to open a second Huey's location. Since then, she's been in several roles including general manager, vice president of operations, and chief operating officer, the position she held before becoming president.

The popular Memphis burger chain has 10 area locations and sold over 1 million burgers in 2021. The story for the restaurant started back in the 1970s. In 1976, Thomas Boggs bought the Huey’s restaurant and bar at 1927 Madison Ave. in Midtown Memphis. Huey’s was founded in 1970 by Memphian Allen Gary.
