Ashley Graham’s First Maxim Cover Hasn’t Gone Down Well

While it’s absolutely fantastic to see a fuller-figured woman covering a lad’s mag like Maxim, Ashley Graham’s first shoot with the magazine hasn’t been all that well received.

The model, who posed for the publication’s April issue, used the exposure to promote beauty beyond size - except her look wasn’t entirely natural.

Upon posting a photo of the magazine’s cover on Instagram, fans were quick to call out Graham’s Photoshopped look.

Sharp-eyed social media users noticed that it seems like the model’s “wobbly bits” have been smoothed out for the shots, making her limbs look more toned and honed than they actually are.

“She’s had more than wobbly bits removed,” commented one of Graham’s Instagram followers. “Her proportions, which are by themselves awesome are off. Everyone loves her for her… all her curves, not the industry standards.”

Another wrote: “Definitely photo shopped. That is unfortunate after everything you stand for Ashley.. your curves are gorgeous and Maxim should not have minimize who you are…shame on them! (sic)”

But despite the negative feedback, the star was inundated with support with fans applauding her daring and body-baring cover that definitely throws light on the fact that women don’t have to be insanely slim to be beautiful - or sexy.
