Answer: The McDaniel Avenue bridge repair project is almost complete. McDaniel Avenue, southeast of downtown Greenville, is anticipated to be reopened by the end of March, South Carolina Department of Transportation spokesperson Pete Poore said.

The steel members of the bridge were replaced November 2022 and the bridge deck was poured at the end of December. SCDOT partnered with the City of Greenville to upgrade a sewer line along McDaniel Avenue before the bridge repair could be completed.

"The sewer project involved upgrading the existing sewer line and reconstructing the roadway removed to install the sewer. Once the roadway is rebuilt, the entire area will be milled and paved," Poore said.

Poore said aerial utility relocation still needs to be completed and placed back to their previous height. This may be completed under lane closures after McDaniel Avenue is re-opened.
