Details: Ilya Ponomarev revealed his involvement with the National Republican Army of the Russian Federation, which claimed responsibility over the propagandist's assasination.

The politician was sure that the assassins would not have pressed the button if they had known that the daughter was alone in the car, not accompanied by the father.

Quote: "I don't think so, but they saw two people getting into the car. And they assumed that the other one was Dugin."

And who was the other person - and what happened to them, we do not know [this interview was the first public mention of another person allegedly present in Dugina's car ed.]."

More details: Ilya Ponomarev also called Dugin one of the perpetrators of the terrorist attack committed against the fighters of Azov Regiment in Olenivka.

Background:

  • On 20 August, a car driven by Darya Dugina exploded in the suburbs of Moscow. Dugina was a reporter working for RT, the Russian propaganda outlet, and the daughter of Aleksandr Dugin, "Putin's ideologue".

  • The Office of the President of Ukraine denied Kyiv's involvement in Dugina's assassination.

  • Russian FSB claimed that the assassination of Dariya Dugina was orchestrated by the Ukrainian special services.
