As Johnson County authorities continue to review sexual assault allegations against him, Jackson Mahomes ended his nearly two-month silence on social media — in a St. Louis Cardinals jersey.

The controversial social media star has not posted anything on his accounts since allegations of incidents at an Overland Park restaurant emerged in February. But over the weekend, Mahomes, brother of Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, posted from Busch Stadium, where the Cardinals played a four-game home stand against the Pittsburgh Pirates.

Also over the weekend, Brittany Mahomes defended her brother-in-law during a question-and-answer session with her Instagram followers.

The family has been largely silent about him since late February.

“How do you feel about the comments about your BIL?” someone asked her on Sunday.

“They are ignorant,” she responded in her Instagram stories, according to multiple reports. (Instagram stories disappear after 24 hours.)

“He is a human just trying to live his life and find his way and until you walk a day in his shoes (which no one ever will) you have no right to say (bleep) about him. So it’s best to just shut up.”

Aspen Vaughn, the 40-year-old owner of Aspens Restaurant and Lodge in Overland Park, had accused Jackson Mahomes of grabbing her by the throat and forcibly kissing her in her office on Feb. 25. Also that night, Mahomes allegedly shoved a 19-year-old male waiter.

Vaughn said Mahomes’ advances were shocking.

“He forcibly kissed me out of nowhere,” she told The Star, “and I’m telling him, pushing him off, saying, ‘What are you doing?’ And then he proceeded to do it two more times, where the last time I was pushing him off, and I can see on the cameras that somebody was outside the office door and I was yelling for them to come help because he’s big and massive.”

In a statement to The Star at the time, Mahomes’ attorney, Brandan Davies, said: “Jackson has done nothing wrong.

“Our investigation has revealed substantial evidence refuting the claims of Jackson’s accuser including the statements of several witnesses. We have reached out to law enforcement to provide the fruit of our investigation so that they may have a complete picture of the matter.”

On Monday, a spokeswoman for Johnson County District Attorney Steve Howe said the case is still under review.

After The Star reported the incident, Mahomes disappeared from his social media accounts, the quietest he has been in a rather tumultuous couple of years.

Since the 2019-20 NFL season, Mahomes made TikToks at Chiefs games, at the Super Bowl, in bars, in his apartments, and with other content creators.

He has 1.1 million TikTok followers, 260,000 on Instagram, nearly 36,000 on Twitter and nearly 25,000 on YouTube. His legal problems haven’t hurt those numbers.

He popped up in the background with other family members in Easter videos Brittany Mahomes posted.

In his return over the weekend, he tagged the Cardinals in an Instagram story that showed him sitting close to the field at Busch Stadium. He also posted his postcard-perfect view of The Gateway Arch. He reportedly also posted a photo of the doors leading into the Cardinals clubhouse.

Some Cardinals fans knew he was at the game.

“If the Cardinals lose today, I’m blaming Jackson Mahomes,” one tweeted.
