Assistant Fire Chief Roman Clark looks back on a 46-year career in Baltimore City

Assistant Fire Chief Roman Clark is retiring. He danced his way into the room for his celebration sendoff as friends, family and colleagues honored his 46 years of service with the Baltimore City Fire Department. When asked what it feels like to put on the uniform for the last time, Clark said, "My wife asked me the same thing, 'How's it feel?' I said, 'It's a little strange, bittersweet.'" Clark joined the department in 1977. He was assigned to a company as the only African American.
