Associated Bank to close branches in Suamico, Manitowoc and Marshfield

GREEN BAY - Associated Bank branches in grocery stores in Suamico, Manitowoc, Mosinee and Marshfield are among 13 branches the Green Bay-based bank will close this fall.

Associated plans to close seven locations in Wisconsin and six in Illinois on Nov. 18. Five of the Wisconsin branches scheduled to close are in Festival Foods stores, one in a Piggly Wiggly and two are standalone branches.

Those include the Suamico location at 2348 Lineville Road, the Manitowoc location at 2151 S. 42nd St., the Marshfield location at 1617 N. Central Ave. and the Mosinee location at 530 W. State 153.

Where can I find nearby Associated Bank branches?

Associated will consolidate operations from those branches into nearby, freestanding branches at:

  • Suamico: 3501 Veterans Ave.

  • Manitowoc: 1121 Franklin St.

  • Marshfield: 400 S. Chestnut Ave.

  • Mosinee: 5211 Alderson St., in Schofield

The other Wisconsin cities where Associated will consolidate branches are: Eau Claire, Madison, and Neenah.

Associated Bank consolidations part of a banking industry trend

Associated, like other banks, regularly evaluates performance of its branch network and makes changes to position the company for future success, said Jennifer Kaminski, Associated's senior public relations manager, in an email. It closed seven Wisconsin branches in fall 2021, as well.

"The consolidations align with an industry-wide trend, which includes consumers adaption to digital banking, a smaller branch footprint and lower frequency of walk-in traffic," Kaminski said.

Associated workers at the affected locations will be offered jobs within the company.
