Assumption Parish armed robbery suspect wanted by deputies

NAPOLEONVILLE, La. (BRPROUD) — The Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office are searching for a wanted suspect accused of an armed robbery in Bayou L’Ourse.

According to the sheriff’s office, on Dec. 28, 2023, deputies responded to a call of a reported armed robbery near the Murial Street and Louisiana Highway 398 area. Deputies learned that two suspects had guns and two other suspects robbed the individual.

Deputies arrested James Vincent Howell II, 19, of Bayou Vista. Arrest warrants were issued for the other suspects who are identified as Alvin Fitch Jr., 18, of Morgan City, Jedarrius Brown, 19, of Lafayette, and a 17-year-old juvenile.

A complaint was filed against the juvenile on charges of armed robbery with a firearm. He was ordered to be held in continued custody, according to deputies.

Howell was arrested by the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office on Jan. 18 before being transferred to the Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office custody and booked on charges of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, armed robbery and contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile.

Fitch was arrested in Lafayette on local charges. Upon release, Fitch will be booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of armed robbery with a firearm, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and contributing to the delinquency of juveniles.

Brown is still at large and should be considered armed and dangerous, according to the sheriff’s office. Brown has a number “7” tattoo located on his throat.
