Can astrology help dogs find their new owners?

LOCATION: Los Angeles, California

Wags & Walks adoption center has teamed up with Squarespace

to create a website showing dogs and their star signs

to help get better foster matches

(SOUNDBITE) (English) COMMUNICATIONS, SQUARESPACE, ASHLEY CALAME, SAYING: "Compatibility is a huge factor when it comes to pairing a pet with a foster parent and what better way to showcase compatibility than with astrological signs? It's a fun, engaging way people can kind of understand what their astrological sign with, what pet they would best pair with and so we thought it was a really fun and unique angle to kind of raise awareness for this program."

So what are some rules of astrology to keep in mind?

(SOUNDBITE) (English) VOLUNTEER CO-ORDINATOR AT WAGS & WALKS, ARIANA HOWELL, SAYING: "Sometimes opposites attract, so you can have a Libra with an Aries, sometimes you want a dog that is similar to your personality. So like I mentioned, if you're on your computer all day and you want a dog that's just going to chill out with you, that might be best for you and then there are some that don't work well together. All the signs have an element of earth, water, fire and air so if you pick the same element, it's usually a compatible match."

(SOUNDBITE) (English) DOG FOSTERER, DEANNA ISABEL, SAYING: "Yeah, so I'm an Aquarius. The best dogs for me based on our signs would be Geminis, Libras, Sagittarius, like Virginia here, and I have found that I've had a couple of dogs as fosters who fit the bell for those signs."
