Athens-Clarke police seek hit and run driver; pedestrian injured

Athens-Clarke police were still working Wednesday to identify the driver of a vehicle that hit and critically injured a man at the West Broad Street and Alps Road intersection.

The crash was reported at about 7:35 p.m. Monday.

The victim, identified only as a 27-year-old Crawfordville man, was transported to Piedmont Athens Regional Medical Center in critical condition.

Police said the vehicle fled from the crash scene. Details of how the crash occurred have not yet been released.
