There’s a reason the moment we come home or enter our cars, we tear off our mask with the same fervor we once reserved to wiping off makeup or taking off jeans after a long day — they’re just not very comfortable. However, unlike jeans or makeup, they are a necessity if you’re going to be around other people, and effectively keep you and others safe (especially when used alongside other social distancing measures).
Arguably the most difficult time to wear a mask? When you’re exercising. Whether it’s a socially-distant yoga class outside, a stroll through a park or a jog through the neighborhood, wearing a mask while running out of breath is near-unbearable. Not anymore.
Athleta released face masks specifically designed for movement. Dubbed the “Made to Move Mask,” the pack includes three masks in neutral tones that are designed to be soft, breathable and flexible. An interchangeable head strap helps alleviate the pressure that accumulates behind the ears and can be positioned at the crown of the head, wrapped around a ponytail, or around the nape of the neck.
The masks have also routinely been selling out, so if you see them in stock, you better make a move — fast.
“I bought these to run in,” one shopper shared. “I have a small face and they fit great. Even better when I wear it upside- doesn't slide at all when talking. I'm a big fan!”
Even teachers give them an enthusiastic two thumbs up!
“I have been trying on masks for months, dreading having to teach the whole day with them,” one wrote. “Finally found the perfect one. These are the most comfortable ones. They don't suffocate you and the adjustable feature is so clever. I have a small face, so when I am speaking other masks tent to creep up covering my eyes. This mask stays put.”
Another noted: “Not only have I worn this mask teaching all day, but I wore it on the treadmill last night at the gym, (walking not running), and it was perfect. Even more perfect for lifting. I can't tell you how pleased I am!”
In short: “I know working out with a mask stinks but this worked really well for me,” a happy shopper shared. “I did an orange theory class and this stayed in place. Another member was wearing this same mask and she also had no trouble. I'm going to order another pack.”
