“Hayley has such a desire to become a better volleyball player and over the past few weeks she has had several 'aha' moments,” Ropp said. “She has come on several occasions and said, 'Coach, I know now why you keep asking us to move closer to the net on a short serve.' Or, 'I'm seeing who or where I want to serve on the court.

“She is not afraid to ask questions when she wants to understand a concept or a skill better and gets so excited when it all comes together for her. Hayley has a wonderful work ethic and brings a positive and supportive presence to the team.”

Hayley is involved in school and community activities. Besides volleyball, she is involved in softball, Cares Clowns and wants to be more involved with student council next year.

In the community, Hayley is involved with the Sharks swim team, Fairbury Baptist Youth Group and the Pontiac Dance Center.

Hayley enjoys spending time with family and friends, putting puzzles together with her mom, traveling and “doing anything to keep busy.”
