“Kyler shows up to class daily with a smile, a hello, a positive attitude and the energy to learn,” Whitfill said. “I can always count on Kyler to give his best effort during class.

“Kyler displays great sportsmanship during activities even with his competitive attitude.

“When it comes time to help out in any way, I can be sure that Kyler is there and ready. This attitude and work ethic make it a pleasure to have Kyler in class. As Kyler progresses through school and into the future, these these positive qualities are going to help him succeed in all aspects of life.”

Kyler is involved in basketball, football, track and FFA. He enjoys riding his dirt bike, camping, working on his RC car and hanging out with friends. He plans to attend trade school after high school and work on the family farm.

Collin Kilgus has been selected as the Athlete of the Week at Prairie Central Jr. High by his wrestling coach, Caden Tjarks. Collin, a seventh grader, is the son of Matt and Jenna Kilgus of Fairbury.

“Collin is a second year wrestler and has cemented his role as a captain on this team,” Tjarks said. “He has a record of 30-4 so far on the season. His big goal for the season is to qualify for state for the second year in a row and earn a place on the podium at the state tournament.

“Our team has a difficult move each week that has to result in a pin. We call it the 'Milk Shake Move.' Collin leads the team in milk shakes because of his hard work and ability to learn new skills.”

Besides wrestling, Collin is involved in football and FFA. He plans to play football and wrestle in high school.
