Athlete of the Week
Ballard sophomore Tucker Vitzthum is the Tri-County Times Athlete of the Week.
Vitzthum qualified for the boys state wrestling tournament for the first time and claimed a district championship at 132 pounds during the Class 2A District 2 meet in Huxley Saturday.
Vitzthum pinned Knoxville's Steven McCreery in two minutes during the quarterfinals then upset West Marshall's J.D. Downs in the semifinals with a fall in 4:40 and top-seeded Remmington Fry of Prairie City-Monroe in the finals with a 14-2 win by major decision. Vitzthum heads to state with a 39-16 record.
