Ellis Tech sophomore Kylie Damble has been voted The Bulletin's "Athlete of the Week" for Jan. 10-15.

Damble scored a game-high 15 points to lift the Golden Eagles past Grasso Tech, 37-25, in a Connecticut Technical Conference girls basketball contest. She also grabbed 12 rebounds and blocked five shots in the Golden Eagles’ 29-13 victory against Norwich Tech.

“Kylie has a very high basketball IQ,” Ellis Tech coach John Murdock said. “She is that 'coach' on the floor that all teams hope to have. She is one of the top players we have in the CTC.”

Damble has averaged 11.2 rebounds and 3.4 blocks per game while leading the Golden Eagles to a 6-3 mark.

“Kylie is one that does not want to be in the spotlight but with her play on the floor she is always the one that shines above most,” Murdock said. “She is a fierce competitor and a hard worker. She has been one of the leaders on our young squad. The future is looking very bright for us.”
