These Athletes and Celebrities Have Tested Positive For Coronavirus
With the global Coronavirus outbreak continuing to change and evolve hour-by-hour and day-by-day, more and more people have begun to test positive for the contagious sickness. Within the last day or so, a number of notable people in our world—athletes, actors, and more—have either themselves confirmed or been reported to have tested positive for the coronavirus. This situation is obviously rapidly evolving, but here are a handful that have been confirmed thus far.
Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson
Hanks and Wilson had been in Australia shooting the upcoming Elvis Presley movie when they began feeling some mild symptoms and decided to get a test; as it turns out, the pair (both 63) tested positive for the coronavirus.
"Not much more to it than a one-day-at-a-time approach, no?" Hanks wrote in a post shared to both his Twitter and Instagram accounts.

Rudy Gobert
Gobert was the first NBA player to test positive for the coronavirus, and as early as a few days prior to his test was mocking the sickness. His positive test is what led the NBA to suspend its 2019-2020 season. A few days before, he made a point to touch every microphone and recorder in front of him:

The All Star center issued a statement after his positive test. "The first and most important thing is I would like to publicly apologize to the people that I may have endangered," he wrote. "At the time, I had no idea I was even infected. I was careless and make no excuse."

Donovan Mitchell
Mitchell, Gobert's Utah Jazz teammate and fellow All Star, was the second NBA player confirmed to have contracted the virus. In reporting his positive test, ESPN NBA Insider Adrian Wojnarowski said that Gobert "had been careless in the locker room touching other players and their belongings."
Mitchell spoke about his positive test in an Instagram post. "We are all learning more about the seriousness of this situation and hopefully people can continue to educate themselves and realize that they need to behave responsibly both for their own health and for the well being of those around them," Mitchell said in an Instagram post.

Arteta is now self-isolating, and Sky suspects that his coaching staff and first-team players will do the same. "This is really disappointing but I took the test after feeling poorly," he said. "I will be at work as soon as I'm allowed."

Hudson-Odoi, a winger for Chelsea F.C., is the first English Premier League player to test positive for the coronavirus. After the news of both Hudson-Odoi and Arteta's positive tests, the Premier League has suspended all activity and games until April 3rd at the earliest. According to the BBC, Chelsea says that Hudson-Odoi "displayed symptoms similar to a mild cold on Monday morning," and that led him to stay away from the training facility. They added that he's doing well and hopes to return as soon as possible.
Hudson-Odoi posted a video message to his Instagram giving fans an update on his status. "I am following the health guidelines and self-isolating myself from everybody for the week," he said. "I hope to see everybody soon and hopefully will be back on the pitch very soon."

Additionally, the star of The Wire and Hobbs & Shaw revealed that his wife, Sabrina Dhowre Elba hasn't been tested. He ended his video with a call for the world to come together. "We live in a divided world right now, we can all feel it, it's been bullshit," he said. "But now's the time for solidarity. Now's the time for thinking about each other."

"I am happy to report that my progress has continued and I feel practically back to normal," he said in a video. "I am lucky to be in the 80 percent of diagnosed cases that have not required hospitalization, that’s an important statistic.”
He also said that he considered hydroxychloroquine to be the "secret weapon," which is a drug commonly used to treat malaria. This is the same drug that President Trump mentioned in a tweet, and that Dr. Anthony Fauci cautioned against, saying the evidence was anecdotal and based on personal accounts. “Well, add my name to those personal accounts, because I am feeling better,” he said. “I won’t say this is a cure and I won’t say definitively that you should go out and use it, but what I will say is that I believe it was crucial to my recovery.”

"I'm OK, I feel fine. I don't feel any of the symptoms," he said in a video included in the tweet. "But I can't stress enough practicing social distancing and really keeping yourself away from a large group of people and just really washing your hands and help protect yourself. And help protect others by protecting yourself."
I was tested 5 days ago and the results came back tonight, which were positive. Ive been self quarantined since the test, thank goodness. COVID-19 must be taken w the highest of seriousness. I want to thank all the medical professionals who are working tirelessly for all of us, and urge everybody to stay home and take care of themselves."

Jackson Browne
71-year-old rocker Jackson Browne told Rolling Stone that he got a test for COVID-19 as soon as he suspected something wasn't right, with a small cough and temperature. He did indeed test positive, and has been recuperating at his home in Los Angeles. “My symptoms are really pretty mild, so I don’t require any kind of medication and certainly not hospitalization or anything like that,” he said in the same interview.
Browne doesn't know where he picked the virus up, but suspects a recent trip to New York City for the Love Rocks NYC benefit, which also featured several other big names. He continued to tell RS that people should exercise caution and social distancing. “So many people that have it aren’t going to be tested,” he said. “They don’t have symptoms, but they might have it and might be able to pass it on. That’s what younger readers need to understand: They need to take part in the global response to stop the spread. That means not going anywhere, not getting into contact with anybody, not seeing anybody.”

"That has come out positive, so I am working from home, I'm self-isolating, and that's entirely the right thing to do."

She also detailed her experience as part of the "Chat and Feed" series.
"At one point I heard myself saying, 'I thought they promised us our kids would be OK.' And it's not guaranteed. There's no one that is safe from this," she said. "Jameson's been really, really sick. I've kept a journal of his symptoms for the past three weeks, and mine as well. He still, three weeks later, has a 100 degree temperature. It's been a roller coaster. It's been a different roller coaster for both of us."
