The International Olympic Committee has granted permission for athletes from Russia and Belarus to participate in the 2024 Paris Games.

The IOC imposes several requirements on countries involved in the genocide in Ukraine. However, these requirements are conditional, as practice shows that athletes supporting the war in Ukraine, contracted to the Russian army, or endorsing Putin’s policies seamlessly enter international competitions.

IOC Requirements:

1. Athletes with Russian or Belarusian passports will be registered as Individual Neutral Athletes (AIN) and will compete as such

2. Athletes with Russian or Belarusian passports will not participate in team events

3. Athletes actively supporting the war will not be eligible for registration or participation. Supportive staff will not be engaged

4. Athletes under contract with Russian or Belarusian military or national security services will not be eligible for registration or participation. Support staff under such contracts will not be allowed to work at the events

5. Any neutral athlete must comply with all anti-doping requirements applicable to them before and during the 2024 Paris Olympic Games, especially those outlined in anti-doping regulations.

Additionally, no Russian or Belarusian flags, anthems, colors, or any other identification will be displayed at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris at any official venue or event.

No Russian or Belarusian government officials will be invited or accredited for the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.

In social media, ardent Putin supporters are urging athletes to boycott the Olympics, warning of being labeled as traitors.

“There will be a census of Russia’s traitors, for whom being with the West is more important than their own country.”

They also suggest organizing alternative games.

“Why not issue an ultimatum to the IOC? Either allow everything with all attributes, or Russia creates competitions similar to the Olympics.”

The Olympic Games in Paris will take place from July 26 to Aug. 11, 2024.
