First, we had a few days of warm temperatures, humidity, thunderstorms and tornados. Now, much of metro Atlanta could be waking up to a bit of snow. Channel 2 Action News meteorologist Eboni Deon said a light dusting of snow is possible for much of Cobb and the northern parts of Fulton and DeKalb counties. Some flurries are also possible for the very southern tip of Fulton County. While an accumulation is not expected, roadways could be slippery during the early-morning hours. Today's high in metro Atlanta will be in the mid-40s, but will feel more like the high 30s. Rain will end early and bring in sunny, clear skies for most of the day. A look back over 2021 would not be complete if the City of Atlanta Police Department did not highlight our elite Air Unit. When patrol officers need help tracking a fleeing suspect, a stolen car, lost person, or need elevated eyes on other situations, they make a call and in no time, the flight crew is on Phoenix Air fully engaged and ready for action. Suspects learn quickly that when Phoenix goes up, their escape adventure is short lived. They can run but they can’t hide. We cannot overstate the importance of this team and this critical resource in our crime-fighting endeavors. When our patrol officers and Phoenix join forces, bad guys end up in handcuffs. We’ve compiled some of their coolest and most intense action videos from incidents this past year. (Facebook)
