Macy’s famed Pink Pig is coming out of retirement just in time for the holidays!

Pricilla the Pig has been a staple of Atlanta’s Christmas Season since 1953, when the original children’s train ride debuted at the Rich’s store downtown. A new version of Pricilla graced the March’s store at Lenox Square starting in 2003 until she was retired in 2021.

The museum announced Friday that the twin pigs will come out of retirement during their annual holiday tree lighting on Nov 18, for display only.
“The original Rich’s twin pig monorails and their iconic smiles made Christmas bright for five generations,” the Atlanta History Center posted on Instagram. “Come see them in our museum atrium this holiday season.”
Longtime Atlantan residents were thrilled at the news of the Pink Pig’s return.
“My mom has a picture from the 70′s when we rode The Pink Pig with some friends,” Amelia Parrish wrote. “I hope the current and future generations get to have this experience.”
The Christmas Tree lighting starts at 7 p.m. at Veteran’s Park.
