Atlanta's Out On Film Lineup to Include Bros, Chrissy Judy & More
Queer audiences are looking forward to Atlanta’s Out on Film, which has an incredible lineup of LGBTQ+ movies and documentaries screening during the festival.
This year’s Out on Film will open with Billy Eichner’s highly-anticipated gay rom-com Bros. For closing night, the festival will screen Chrissy Judy – which Todd Flaherty directed, wrote, and starred in. Moreover, Colman Domingo will be in attendance to receive the Out On Film Icon Award for his contributions as a legendary LGBTQ+ actor.
Out on Film will feature many other high-profile projects such as Micheal Rice’s kaleidoscopic Black as U R, Daresha Kyi’s Mama Bears, Connie Cocchia’s When Time Got Louder, and the global premiere of Yuval David’s Wonderfully Made – LGBTQ+R(eligion) produced by Mark McDermott and Lance Bass.
The lineup for this year’s Out on Film features 23 narrative movies, 17 documentaries, and 16 shorts. A total of 143 films will be representing as many as 27 countries, which means that the festival will spotlight plenty of cultural diversity. Screenings will be taking place at the Landmark Midtown Art Cinema, Out Front Theatre Company, IPIC Theaters Colony Square, and the Role Call Theater.
“Our 35th Anniversary presentation will hit all the notes that Out on Film has become noted for over the past four decades, with a wonderful combination of films from around the world, as well as from our amazing city of Atlanta,” Out on Film festival director Jim farmer said. “We’ve got a great honoree in Colman Domingo who somehow will manage to be on hand in the middle of his incredibly packed production schedule, and new wrinkles in store, including our very first screenplay competition coupled with a queer filmmaker celebration.”
Out on Film 2022 begins in just a week, so this is a wonderful time to start securing tickets and making plans to attend this LGBTQ+ festival.
