A helistop also is located at the city campus of AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center.

A spokesman at Ocean Casino Resort offered few details about the proposed helistop, saying the project would be finalized in coming weeks.

“I can say that this project is in addition to the $85-plus million in development we announced last year,” said Brian Brennan.

He described the helistop as “more a part of our five-year birthday celebration.”

Atlantic City casino-hotel plans giveaways

The anniversary observance, to run from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day, will include more than $5 million in giveaways and promotions.

Ocean Casino Resort last year announced plans for an upgrade that would include 460 new rooms and suites, multiple food and beverage outlets, and a sports and entertainment venue.

The changes will be unveiled over the summer at the 500 Boardwalk property.

The casino-hotel features 1,860 guest rooms and suites; a 4,500-seat concert venue; and 135,000 square feet of gaming entertainment.

It also offers multiple restaurants and 160,000 square feet of meeting and convention space, among other amenities.

The helistop license request is pending before the Bureau of Aeronautics at the state Department of Transportation.
